After DIYing these drivers to a pair of cheap gaming headphones, I will share my thoughts on how exactly it sounds.\n\nFirst impressions wise, yes they are pretty sibilant. But it's a bit hasty to call them bad because of it. Fortunately, these drivers greatly benefit from EQing and DSP filters. Just EQ out some of the low treble and you'll immediately hear a difference. Furthermore, I personally use the HiByMusic app, which features their \"MSEB\" DSP filter that essentially allows you to \"tune\" the drivers. When the impulse response is cranked all the way down, the treble becomes less spikey. If you plan on buying these, I would recommend getting the HiByMusic app to tune the drivers.\n\nBut wait, there's more! In order to really combat the sibilance, I stuck a sheet of dampening material over the drivers, which I also got from elfinear. On top of that, I layered some thick foam cut from a pair of Grado earpads. The result? It's definitely listenable. \n\nHenceforth, the rest of the review dives into its sound, post-mod.\n\nWith the highs mitigated, the sound is honestly not that bad. These drivers don't seem to have a strong bass response, but the bass is definitely there. Just don't expect sub-bass rumble, these drivers are more mid-bass focused. They remind me of what you'd normally hear on open back headphones (despite my headphones being closed back). \n\nIn terms of mids, they're pretty clean. And very clear. We can thank the lack of mid-bass bleed for that. \n\nIn terms of highs, this is where the Myth shines, and also fails. It's a double-edged sword. The treble response especially in the lower region is very crisp and snappy. I can tell that the transients are very pronounced in this region, which is likely the reason why it sounds too sharp. However, dial back the transients and the highs become very well-defined and detailed.\n\nOverall, these drivers are great, technically speaking. Just know what to expect (and how much effort you want to commit) beforehand.",
